JanuarySongs & Chamber Music of Mark Rimple

Mark Rimple has always taken a Janus-like position toward music of the past and of the future, performing ancient and modern works side by side. His own compositions are a fusion of these elements, blending modern sounds such as the words of Catullus with the electric guitar, or the textures of the Romantic piano sonata with the proportional games of the Middle Ages and Renaissance.

This first all-Rimple release on Furious Artisans features Rimple as both countertenor and lutenist, joined by world-renowned countertenor Drew Minter, lauded baritone Randall Scarlata, and virtuosic instrumental performances by the early-new music ensemble Mélomanie, pianists Carl Cranmer and David Alpher, and electric guitarist Van Stiefel.
